Farmers Markets: Old Town Newhall & College of the Canyons

Saturday & Sunday mornings  ·  Late fall harvest

Mid-November is transition season at the valley's markets: the last of the fall citrus, winter squash, greens, and the pomegranates that peak this time of year. The Old Town Newhall Farmers Market fills the library parking lot at 24500 Main Street on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, a good warm-up before Jingle Fest. Sunday morning the Certified Farmers' Market sets up in Parking Lot 5 at College of the Canyons (Valencia Blvd & Rockwell Canyon Rd) from 8 AM to noon, year-round. Stock up on citrus and squash for Thanksgiving baking and grab a caramel apple while the season lasts.

Choose-and-cut & pre-cut Bouquet Canyon & beyond

This is the weekend the valley's tree farms start lighting up. Gilchrist Farm on Bouquet Canyon Road sells fresh-cut Oregon trees alongside its holiday farm animals, Frosty's Forest on Orchard Village Road remains one of Southern California's rare choose-and-cut Monterey pine forests, and several pre-cut lots join the rotation as Thanksgiving nears. Most farms post their opening dates each fall, so confirm the listing before you drive out. If you want first pick of the freshest trees, this is the window.
