December is when the SCV holiday season hits full stride. Friday through Sunday, Holiday in the Park keeps its winter wonderland running at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Saturday, December 5, brings the monthly 661 Night Market back to the valley plus the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market in the morning, while Sunday, December 6, is the Polar Express Experience at the Santa Clarita History Center and the College of the Canyons market. 661 Night Market

The valley's monthly night market returns for its December edition on the first Saturday of the month: food vendors, artisan booths, live entertainment, and a full bar, in the family-friendly format that has packed every edition since July. Polar Express Experience at the History Center

At the Santa Clarita History Center: photos with the Mogul 1629 steam engine, a story reading, cookies, and caboose and train station tours. A favorite December afternoon for train-loving families, and it sells out most years, so arrive early.

The Nutcracker: Watch the PAC Calendar
